Yahoo is hosting a security unconference in SF. Academic students get in for free. For the rest of us, money raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Electronic Freedom Foundation (EFF).
What qualifies you as an “academic student”? I’m currently on an internship, but am also enrolled in school/plan on going back/have a valid student ID :)
